Dr. Lewis was heavily involved with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and he led CTG’s involvement in more than 150 LEED-certified projects. He served as a member of the national Board of Directors of USGBC from 1997-2002, as a member of the LEED Steering Committee from 2000-2012, as Chair of the LEED Technical & Scientific Advisory Committee from 2001-2009, and as the Chair of the LEED Technical Committee, 2009-2012. In 2011, Malcolm was named a LEED Fellow in the inaugural class of fellows. Entrepreneur Magazine cited CTG as a Green Building industry leader and named it a Top 100 Company to Watch in 2009.

The Malcolm Lewis IMPACT! Award, created in honor of Malcolm Lewis, recognizes teams of volunteers who are making green buildings and communities a reality for their neighbors, family, friends, coworkers and greater community. The award program has celebrated 45 teams since 2012 by elevating awareness of each team’s great work.

Our Impact Capital Group CEO is proud to have played a key role in the representation of Dr. Lewis in the highly successful sale of CTG. Some of the challenges included: selling an ESOP owned company, properly presenting a pioneering firm in the green building area, achieving a suitable cultural fit with the ultimate buyer, and providing an ongoing role for Dr. Lewis as an industry luminary. After artful packaging, effective marketing, skilled negotiations, and multiple offers received, Constructive Technologies Group was successfully acquired by The Cadmus Group, another ESOP owned company, in 2012.
